A putrid brown banana peel

The maggoty remains of an old Happy Meal

A glob of gooey chocolate that once was sweet

A sticky candy wrapper with a whiff of feet

A plastic bag of smashed cracker crumbs

And three fuzzy pits from what I think were plums

​

A broken pretzel as hard as a stone

A lonely shriveled grape all on its own

A container of pasta green with mold

Five rancid raisins that once were gold

A slimy ooze of bagel and lox

The contents of my son's lost lunchbox
